Stone House to Restore in Small Town of Gessopalena
This stone property is located just off the main street of Gessopalena. As the photos show, the building requires completely restoring. On entering the property there is a room with a fireplace, a bathroom and another room. The spiral stairs lead to upstairs where there are a further 2 rooms, which could be knocked through into 1 large room. There is a separate entrance to the cellar. On the other side to the building there is a small strip of garden about 40 square meters.
Gessopalena is known for its glittering stone due to the numerous crystalline outcrops of selenite. Gessopalena is built on a chalk ridge to the right of the Aventino river. This small town takes its name from the chalk quarries of the area, and can offer a wealth of medieval monuments and lively traditions in art, architecture, music and culture.
